ENTERPRISE MARINE engineers are fully trained in the installation and maintenance of Kelvin Hughes VDR / S-VDR Systems, having been involved in a substantial number of installations, both in the UK and abroad. SURVEY A survey is carried out to ascertain equipment compatibility, interfacing requirements and suitable locations to mount the VDR equipment. Where a vessel has outdoor bridge wings, outdoor microphones will also be required. Power supplies are checked for suitability. Cable distances for equipment are measured to ensure the correct lengths are supplied. The client has the option to have the survey carried out by our trained engineers, or the ships crew can fill out a questionnaire, subject to certain conditions. DRAWINGS Prior to installation, full drawings are carried out in our offices for submission and approval. This includes connection details of all equipment and microphones, proposed locations of new equipment and cable specifications. INSTALLATION Our engineers are available to travel to any location to meet the vessel and carry out the installation, whether the vessel is in port, dry dock, or at sea. COMMISSIONING The VDR is then commissioned to ensure recording of all necessary equipment onboard. Reports are issued to the vessel and owners to confirm correct operation of the VDR. |
